The Student Information Desk/Operations Assistant staffs the Student Center Information Desk and general building. They are responsible for answering all questions about PennWest Edinboro events, buildings, offices, etc. Student Assistants must be committed to maintaining a high level of performance on the job. The Student Desk/Operations Assistant reports directly to the Associate Director of Student Center Operations and Event Services, but also receives much direction from Student Operations Supervisors and other Student Affairs professionals.
Responsibilities and Duties
Serve as a resource for those who use our facilities. Respond to questions, provide information, and conduct referrals to other areas on campus.
Serve as representative of the Student Center, and display exemplary customer service skills while utilizing effective decision-making ability.
Have working knowledge of the Information Desk and Building Operations, and assist with operational and safety procedures at the student employee level.
Have some knowledge of applicable University policies in addition to departmental policy.
Have working knowledge of Student Center audio/visual equipment and be able to set up and operate it.
Assist with maintaining clean storerooms in the Student Center.
Assist with event management – lock and unlock meeting rooms following the daily activity report, room set ups and tear downs, operating A/V equipment, and serving as point person for events.
Conduct data collection on a daily basis and complete daily checklist responsibilities.
Do miscellaneous tasks assigned by Student Affairs members.
Attend a multiple-day training session the week before classes begin.
