Mechatronics Engineering Technology Laboratory Assistant
The Mechatronics Engineering Technology program is seeking student workers to assist with laboratory prep for a variety of classes. As a lab assistant, you’ll play a crucial role in supporting the hands-on learning experiences of our students and ensuring the smooth operation of our lab facilities.
Responsibilities:
- Assist instructor during lab sessions and help ensure students are following proper safety measures during lab exercises.
- Set up and prepare lab materials, ensuring all necessary equipment and supplies are ready for each session.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the lab, including cleaning equipment after use and tidying workspaces.
- Troubleshoot minor technical issues with lab equipment and report any maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel.
- Help maintain an inventory of lab supplies and assist in ordering replacements when necessary.
- Collaborate with faculty to improve lab manuals, safety protocols, and operating procedures.
Qualifications:
- Current enrollment in the Mechatronics Engineering Technology program
- Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
- Basic understanding of lab equipment and procedures is a plus.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Excellent communication skills and willingness to assist both instructors and fellow students.
- Reliable and punctual, with a strong sense of responsibility.
- Availability during laboratory sessions.
- Preference given to upper-level students who have already taken some of the core lab courses.
