The Office for Students with Disabilities (OSD) Summer Program is designed to support students registered with the OSD transition to college through support, programming, and academic experiences. Students who enroll will take ENGL 1100, live on campus, and engage in programming to help build their abilities prior to the start of the Fall semester. Student workers play a crucial role in the application and delivery of the program. The program will run from July 5th through August 7th.
We are seeking students who are responsible, dependable, and respectful of all communities within Penn West – Edinboro. These students must possess excellent interpersonal and communication skills, work well in 1:1 and group situations, and convey a professional and mature approach to their work. Training will be provided.
JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Live in Residence Hall and aid with safety, troubleshooting, and community development with students.
- Host and provide programming to students in the form of events and activities.
- Support study sessions with suggestions and encouragement on assignment(s) related to ENGL 1100.
- Aid students in identifying barriers to advance academic progress and develop time-management skills.
- Assess and review students’ progress in achieving individual/personal goals.
- Provide organizational and daily living skills to develop structure and routine.
- Refer students to campus resources as needed.
- Model appropriate academic, daily living skill management, and virtual etiquette.
- Communicate with supervisors regarding progress and areas of concern.
