Graduate Wage Worker– Welcome Center/Undergraduate Admissions

Position Summary
The Admissions Graduate Worker supports the Office of Admissions in recruitment, outreach, and prospective student engagement efforts. This position plays a key role in helping prospective students and their families navigate the admissions process, while contributing to daily office operations, event coordination, and communication initiatives. The employee will gain professional experience in higher education administration, student recruitment, customer service, and data management.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Assist with daily admissions operations, including answering phones, scheduling campus visits, and managing communication with prospective students.
- Assist in social media activities (Instagram, Facebook, ZEEME, etc.)
- Provide frontline customer service to students, families, and school counselors via phone, email, and in-person interactions.
- Assist with the coordination of tour groups during campus visits (give tours as needed)
- Support the coordination and execution of admissions events such as open houses, daily campus visits, admitted student days, twilight tours, information sessions, and yield events.
- Participate in outreach initiatives, including representing PennWest at recruitment fairs or virtual events (as assigned).
- Help with basic data entry within the admissions CRM system.
- Coordinate with administrative assistant to place office supply orders.
- Support campus undergraduate tour ambassadors and student workers as needed.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to FERPA and university policies.
- Assist in daily organization tasks to help maintain a clean and organized work space
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the admissions leadership team.
Qualifications
- Must be admitted and enrolled in a PennWest University graduate program.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with professionalism in customer-facing interactions.
- Ability to multitask, take initiative, and work both independently and within a team.
- Experience in customer service.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and willingness to learn admissions software (CRM).
- Preferred undergraduate studies done at PennWest California.
- Outgoing and social personality required.
Work Expectations
- 15 hours per week, depending on the needs of the admissions office.
- Occasional evening or weekend work required for admissions events.
- Must maintain satisfactory academic progress during the assistantship.
