The Graduate Peer Career Coach supports the Career Center by assisting professional staff with career-related appointments, student engagement, and office operations.
This Graduate Student Wage Worker (GSWW) position pays $15/hour and requires a commitment of 20 hours per week (up to 300 hours per semester) during the Fall 2026 and Spring 2027 semesters. Work is conducted in person on campus and is scheduled Monday through Friday between 8:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m.

The Graduate Peer Career Coach will:
Student Career Support (Primary Responsibility)
Assist professional staff by meeting with students via Zoom and in person to provide basic career support, including:
- Exploring majors and career options
- Reviewing and developing resumes and cover letters
- Supporting internship and job search strategies
- Practicing and preparing for interviews
Additional responsibilities related to student appointments:
- Enter coaching notes and related data into office systems
- Refer students to Career Coaches or other university resources for more advanced or specialized support
- Assist students with accessing career platforms (e.g., Handshake) and scheduling appointments
- Guide students in using online career resources and tools
Outreach, Events, & Presentations
- Assist professional staff with presenting career resources to classes, student organizations, and campus groups
- Assist with the facilitation of events and activities, such as conducting mock interviews and supporting employer programs
- Represent the Career Center at campus events, employer programs, career fairs, admissions events, and outreach activities
Customer Service & Office Operations
As part of supporting daily office operations:
- Greet and assist students, alumni, employers, faculty, staff, and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
- Answer phones, transfer calls, and take accurate messages
- Respond to emails and assist with general office communications
- Assist with clerical and administrative tasks, including copying, filing, and delivering materials across campus
