Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement Job Description:
Job Summary
The Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement assists in overseeing the general operations of all student activities within the University Programming Board area, Greek Life development and academics, and assists the Assistant Director of Campus Programming with the daily functions of the area. They are responsible for all functions occurring during their shift as well as coordinating the activities of the student employees under their supervision. The Student Engagement Graduate Assistant must be committed to maintaining a high level of performance on the job and receive direct supervision from the Assistant Director of Campus Programming, as well as indirect supervision from the Director of Campus Life & Leadership Development. Travel will be required of this position to at least one conference in the year.
Basic Qualifications
- Be a full time Edinboro University Graduate Student (minimum of 9 credits)
- Maintain a 3.0 GPA (overall/cumulative)
- Good judicial standing with the University
- Good organizational skills, communication skills, leadership abilities, as well as the ability to exercise good judgment and initiative in stressful or emergency situations
- General knowledge of Edinboro University, Greek affairs and the University Programming Board
- Well-mannered, professional image
- Interest in program planning and event facilitation
Preferred Qualifications
- Prior supervision and/or team leadership experience
- Experience program and event planning
- Member/Alumni of a Greek Organization
Responsibilities and Duties
The Graduate Assistant for Student Engagement is responsible for:
- Maintaining regular weekly office hours
- Assisting in the management of the UPB office space
- Creating and coordinating a semester calendar of student-centered events
- Facilitating weekly UPB full staff meetings
- Scheduling staff shifts (office hours and event facilitation hours)
- Provide supervision and guidance to the UPB student staff
- Creating, maintaining, and updating job descriptions and staff/job responsibility manuals
- Contracting internal and external vendors
- Overseeing the budget and reimbursements of purchase
- Updating expense reports
- Assisting the Assistant Director in overseeing the setup, duration, and tear down of UPB events (may occur on evenings and weekends)
- Reviewing all marketing material produced by student staff
- Assisting in the assessment of programs and data collection

Supervising UPB trips
- Attend conferences for future programming efforts
- Work with Greek community to assist in program development and implementation of policies
- Attend all NPC, NPHC and IFC meeting
- Update grade reports each semester
- Oversee the Order of Omega and Rho Lambda programs
- Plan, implement and review an officer transition workshop for the Greek executive board in the spring semester
- Plan, implement and review a leadership workshop for the Greek executive boards in the fall semester
- Assist with the implementation of leadership programs and Greek Week
- All other duties assigned

Hours
Hours are scheduled by the Assistant Director of Campus Programming and are limited to 18 hours per week. Early mornings, late evenings, and weekends will likely be required.
Pay Rate
$15.00 an hour
