The GA for Marketing and Special Projects will oversee all marketing efforts associated with Campus Recreation. This position will work directly with the Assistant Director of Campus Recreation on the daily marketing efforts as well as the programs designated ‘special projects.
This individual will be responsible for overseeing all undergraduate students working under their authority, as well as for completing the daily functions of the position. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Coordinating a marketing strategy to increase participation across all areas of Campus Recreation
- Developing print materials for C.O.R.E. trips, Intramural leagues and tournaments, group fitness classes, etc.
- Managing the social media platforms for Campus Recreation and interacting with other users daily
- Capturing photo and video footage of all recreational events and developing end-of-year promotional videos
- Managing the visual appearance of the fitness center, including the development of banners, signs, and promotional information on bulletin boards
- Directing special projects. This includes things like: The Boro Bike Share Program, Bi-Annual Disc Golf Tournaments, Rec Week, staff appreciation events, and large ropes course groups
- Supervising undergraduate students who assist with all the above listed tasks
- Assisting in assessment and data collection for all the programs under his/her authority
This person will also be trained on all functionality of the student recreation/fitness center to provide general assistance to the Assistant Director and other GAs in the facility when needed.
Qualifications:
• Be accepted into a graduate program.
• Be enrolled for full time graduate study (9 credits).
• First Aid/CPR/AED certification (will provide if necessary).
• Exceptional organizational skills, communication skills, leadership abilities, as well as the ability to exercise good judgment and initiative in stressful or emergency situations.
• Maintain a well-mannered, professional image.
