Established by the PennWest Career Center, the support fund provides financial assistance for students pursuing select career and professional development opportunities.
About the Award:
- Available to PennWest undergraduate and graduate students.
- Students may apply multiple times, but preferences will be given to new applicants.
- Selected students will receive a check from the PennWest Clarion Foundation.
- Funding requests must be submitted within one semester of the expense.
- Applications are reviewed by a committee and awarded based on the quality of the application, impact on career goals, and purpose of the funding request.
- Each semester, the committee reviews applications on a rolling basis and awards funding as long as funds are available.
Funding Categories:
- Graduate/Professional School Application Fee
- Graduate School Testing Fee (e.g., LSAT, MCAT, GRE)
- Professional Clearances (e.g., background checks, certifications)
- Professional Certifications testing (e.g., NCC, ASHA, CPA, PRAXIS, etc.)
Eligibility Requirements:
- Applicants must be in good academic standing.
- Undergraduates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
- Graduate students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

- Students who receive funding have two options for submitting receipts:
- Reimbursement Requests
- Students can upload their receipts with their application if they have already paid an approved expense.
- Upfront Funding Requests
- Students who need the grant funds to pay for an upcoming expense must submit their receipt directly to the Career Center.
