Career Center Support Fund 

Established by the PennWest Career Center, the support fund provides financial assistance for students pursuing select career and professional development opportunities. 

About the Award: 

  • Available to PennWest undergraduate and graduate students. 
  • Students may apply multiple times, but preferences will be given to new applicants.  
  • Selected students will receive a check from the PennWest Clarion Foundation. 
  • Funding requests must be submitted within one semester of the expense. 
  • Applications are reviewed by a committee and awarded based on the quality of the application, impact on career goals, and purpose of the funding request. 
  • Each semester, the committee reviews applications on a rolling basis and awards funding as long as funds are available. 

Funding Categories: 

  • Graduate/Professional School Application Fee 
  • Graduate School Testing Fee (e.g., LSAT, MCAT, GRE) 
  • Professional Clearances (e.g., background checks, certifications) 
  • Professional Certifications testing (e.g., NCC, ASHA, CPA, PRAXIS, etc.) 

Eligibility Requirements: 

  • Applicants must be in good academic standing.
    • Undergraduates must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.0
    • Graduate students must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0

  • Explanation of how this grant would make a difference in your college experience and help you achieve your academic and career goals.  
  • Resume 
  • Receipt of expense 
    • Students who receive funding have two options for submitting receipts: 
      • Reimbursement Requests 
        • Students can upload their receipts with their application if they have already paid an approved expense. 
      • Upfront Funding Requests 
        • Students who need the grant funds to pay for an upcoming expense must submit their receipt directly to the Career Center.
